time management
last night emily, justin, andre, ben and i saw the dead fingers in park slope and then had a massive feast at daisy's diner. i stayed over in brooklyn and then met my friend for brunch at the brooklyn star in williamsburg. after brunch it started to snow and i had an epic journey ahead of me to get back into manhattan. the L is not running this weekend so, from the g to the f to the m15 select bus, it took over an hour to get home. i just crawled back to my warm apartment and even though i have some work to do tonight, i can't stop staring at the stack of magazines in my bedroom. i suppose it is a lot to keep up with, 11+ subscriptions plus the foreign fash mags that i buy each month at magazine cafe, but i must find the time read them all.

the fair
let me show you a few scenes from the orange country fair! day-to-day life can be drastically different, no? emily and i went home to my parent's house in connecticut this weekend for my favorite event on the town's calendar. it's kitschy, sure, but the fair is filled with so much pride and love. do you remember when i wrote about the fair two years ago? time flies, and things change, but i'll have you know: the orange country fair does not. ever*. change. and that's the best part of it.

spring day
the emilys and i went to brunch today at spitzer's (of course) and then strolled and strolled and shopped around soho. today was the first day of spring for me (as i have missed all of the other spring days being in my office) and it felt wonderful.
the usual. crispy eggs + spinach ricotta terrine

our former front door on eldridge street

i must remind myself that i can not buy vintage clothing that looks like a costume. as pretty as it may look, i will never wear it.

santacon
saturday was santacon
starting from the lower east side,
up to central park and
then down to the west village.
traipsing around manhattan with thousands of santas.
all right. good and fun.

candyland
a brunch at spitzer's (fries and mayo, panko crusted poached eggs with spinach ricotta terrine, several coffees) followed by a trip to economy candy and a stroll through nolita may be my favorite way to spend a saturday afternoon.

all right
since i've been back from france, everything has kind of flipped upside down for me. in a lot of ways, for the better. but still, so much change has made me a bit loopy and i feel luckyluckylucky that jess came to stay the weekend. especially since she was only going to stay until saturday morning and she stayed until sunday night (typical). we had a lovely brunch at lovely day, then strolled around with ashley, shea and molly, had tapas at boqueria with jess' cool older sister (check out the awesome shoes that she designs - marais usa) and went to a rooftop party in williamsburg. i hung more streamers and created a day-bed in the living room and we watched titanic until they hit the iceberg. after that, the movie is too high-stress.
