i am a beauty product addict. i always have been. and after blowing the majority of my bat mitzvah money* on lip gloss, it's only fitting that i would work for a beauty mag.

today i had the thought of how interesting it would be to see how my beauty essentials change each season. i have countless (!) products, but only a pared-down few get chosen for my compact carryall.

here's what i've been loving lately:

lipstick MAC lipstick in snob and gulabi

lipgloss chanel, levres scintillantes glossimer; jane iredale, pure gloss in candied rose

eyeliner stila, stay all day waterproof liquid eye liner; guerlain, terracotta kohl kajal

blush nars, blush in orgasm

brushes too faced, flatbuki and bronze-buki

mascara avon super shock max; MAC, false lashes

primer too faced, primed and poreless; clinique, instant perfector

eyelash curler shu uemura

brows benefit, brows a-go-go; anastasia, brow fix
fragrance l'artisan mure et musc

i will re-visit this idea in a few months. the only thing i could be sure of is the MAC snob lipstick. i've been wearing it since i was 15.

*of what didn't go into savings, of course

first date

it was in the middle of january and we went out for dessert. we shared cookie pie + vanilla and pistachio ice cream. i was rather pleased that he had a sweet tooth and that he was making me laugh and laugh the entire time.

vermont weekend

ben and i stayed with annie in vermont last week over memorial day weekend. a much needed break from new york city. burlington is such an amazing city. and even though the weather was not ideal, we had a lovely and leisurely time.

i've strictly been using disposable cameras lately. the time it takes to develop the film, to when i am able to post pictures is my biggest challenge. but the film looks so wonderful, doesn't it? compared to a digital camera. it's more expensive, but i think it's worth it to not have the luxury of immediately seeing the images or taking a photo five times to get it right. i love, love, love the moment of seeing the pictures for the first time. especially after a weekend getaway.

i never taught myself how to crochet like i had planned. she was an interruption in the eight hours that i was supposed to learn on my last train ride up to vermont in december. i wanted to crochet a big and colorful grandma blanket. but instead, i found one last week for 1.99 at the goodwill in williston, vermont.

it's just what i wanted, but i'm out of the craft. mas o menos.
